Behind the shoreline, dense Euphorbia candelabra forest and open grassland support one of Kenya’s most important black and white rhino populations, protected within an electrified perimeter that has made the park one of the country’s most reliable places to see both species on the same game drive. Baboon Cliff, on the park’s western rim, gives a sweeping overview of the whole basin and is a favourite stop for photographs.
