Arrive at Bachuma Gate and enter the park for an extensive morning game drive when predators are most active. Your guide will navigate Tsavo’s vast, open plains to search for its famous "red elephants," lions, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, and zebras. During the drive, you will stop at the historic Aruba Dam—a critical permanent water source where you can observe elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and diverse bird species gathering to drink.
Head to a premier safari property, such as Ashnil Aruba Lodge, Voi Wildlife Lodge, or Sentrim Tsavo Lodge, to enjoy lunch. Here, you can dine and relax while watching wild animals visit the nearby waterholes.
Continue your wildlife exploration as animal activity picks up again in the afternoon. Your guide will tailor the route based on recent sightings, giving you the best chance to spot elephant families, lions resting under acacia trees, and unique northern-dry-country species like the lesser kudu, gerenuk, and hartebeest.
Depart Tsavo East and begin your journey back to the coast. You will arrive back at your hotel, resort, or residence in Diani Beach or Mombasa between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM, depending on traffic.
