Tanzania
Tanzania’s largest park and one of its wildest — vast elephant herds, big cat density and dramatic baobab-studded river scenery.
Ruaha sits at the southern edge of Tanzania’s safari circuit, far less visited than the northern parks despite being the country’s single largest protected area and holding one of East Africa’s most significant elephant populations. The Great Ruaha River, which shrinks to a chain of pools through the dry season, becomes the focal point for nearly all wildlife activity, drawing elephant, buffalo, and large predator concentrations that include strong lion numbers and one of Tanzania’s few remaining viable populations of African wild dog. The landscape itself — rolling miombo woodland giving way to ancient baobabs and rocky escarpment — feels distinctly different from the open grass plains of the Serengeti ecosystem further north, and the park’s relative remoteness keeps vehicle traffic low even at peak season.
Immerse yourself in a curated collection of experiences designed to connect you deeply with the spirit of the region. From adrenaline-fueled adventures to quiet moments of discovery, explore the diverse ways to tailor your journey.
