Kenya
A long-established North Coast resort town with Portuguese-era history, a protected marine park and an easy-going beach pace.
Malindi has been a coastal trading and fishing settlement for centuries, visited by Vasco da Gama on his way to India in 1498 and marked since by the stone pillar he left on the headland — one of the oldest European monuments still standing in East Africa. Today it functions as a relaxed, somewhat more affordable alternative to Diani further south, with its own protected marine national park offering reef snorkelling and diving just offshore, and a historic Old Town quarter of narrow streets and old merchant houses. The surrounding area, including the Tana River delta to the north, draws a steady population of game fish that has long made Malindi a base for deep-sea fishing trips, alongside the standard beach-holiday mix of sun, snorkelling and seafood.
Immerse yourself in a curated collection of experiences designed to connect you deeply with the spirit of the region. From adrenaline-fueled adventures to quiet moments of discovery, explore the diverse ways to tailor your journey.
