Bisate Lodge sits inside a restored volcanic amphitheatre on the slopes of the Virunga range, with just a handful of forest-villa suites built into the hillside and a large-scale reforestation project running alongside it. It's the most established luxury base for Volcanoes National Park gorilla trekking, with porters, trekking gear and a packed breakfast all arranged from the lodge itself.
